The planning, coordination and management of the movement and storage of goods, from raw materials through production to final delivery to the customer. Logistics spans the choice of transport mode, warehousing, inventory levels and scheduling, and it grew from a military supply term into a distinct business discipline over the twentieth century as supply chains grew longer and more international.
