Germany's state owned national railway, created on 1 January 1994 by merging West Germany's Deutsche Bundesbahn with East Germany's Deutsche Reichsbahn. Headquartered in Berlin, it runs high speed ICE services, regional trains and freight over the largest rail network in Europe.
