Overland vehicles moved by human or animal muscle power rather than wheels turned by an engine or pedals, the standard transport-history category for pre-mechanized land transport: the travois, the sledge, the dog sled and the carried litter. Belongs here: sledges, travois, dog sleds, litters and similar animal- or human-drawn or -carried overland vehicles. Does not belong here: the pedal-driven bicycle or the wheeled, human-pulled rickshaw, both grouped under bicycles and human-powered road vehicles because they run on roads on wheels rather than being sledged, carried or drawn cross-country.
